Cricut Cuts - Make Them Pop!

I just wanted to share some ideas for sprucing up your Cricut or SVG cuts. I was recently in a Halloween/Fall Cricut cut swap with the Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepioneercricuteer/
and these are the cuts I made.

Baby Shower

We are having a baby shower tomorrow for a co-worker so I made these two cards. The first card was made using the Baby Steps Cricut cartridge, and I used a Heidi Swap polka dot stencil and Close to My Heart Ink in Lagoon for the light blue back ground. The round card I made for a friend that asked me to make her a quick card, and it was cut from the Life's a Party Cricut cartridge. I believe the stamp was from the dollar section at Michael's.

I made my card match the theme of my gift

Michael's Haul

And what would a day be without a little trip to Michaels...I have a scrapbook retreat coming up soon and I have to stock up, right? Plus I HAVE to use the 50% off coupon that is out right now...plus that paper was on sale 5 packs for $10.00, plus I literally JUST bought new scissors and I cant find them ...what other excuses can I come up with :)

I'mmmm baaaaack.....I have been a busy girl creating lots of crafty goodness with my new Cricut explore! I found a lot of new Facebook groups, planned a baby shower, hosted a scrapbooking and card making class and have joined in some swaps with other Cricut users. Here is what I have been up to, enjoy!

Cricut Design Space

One of the things I really like about the new Cricut Design Space is the "canvas" feature. I wanted to make a sticker to put on my new cricut and one of the canvas options is the Explore. So before you cut out your image, you can place the image on the canvas you choose, size it, move it around and see how it looks before you actually cut it out. Some of the canvas options are: candles, tablets, laptop, cell phones, gift bags, t-shirts, scrapbook layouts, cards, banners...there are quite a few to choose from. This is a very cool feature!

My New Baby...Cricut Explore

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!
I ordered my new Cricut Explore from HSN a few weeks ago when Anna Griffin did the launch and it’s finally here! It was supposed to have been delivered on Thursday, but UPS was behind a day, no biggie because now I have the whole weekend to play! When you purchased on that launch night, your Explore came with the 90 days free access to the Cricut Design Space, which includes access to the cricut library of 25,000 images and 200 fonts. The only images not available are the licensed images, i.e. Hello Kitty, Disney, etc. So I am going to be a cricut cutting fool this weekend, CARDS FOR EVERYONE!! YOU GET A CARD! AND YOU GET A CARD! AND YOU GET A CARD LOL!!

I have to say that I love that it comes in  a bag! I still have my box for my E2 because I haven't found a bag that I like. The Explore also comes with a sheet of Iron On material so that you can personalize your bag.

If you can believe it, I didn't even use it last night. It was really rainy and cold here when I got home from work and my boyfriend was all cozy on the couch with our dogs, so once I sat down with them it was a done deal LOL! So instead of trying it out, I unpacked the box and then I got hooked into watching the remake of Red Dawn and then This Is The End came on, and I had never seen it before. I have to say I laughed my ass off, very funny! So needless to say, I didn't start playing with my new friend until now.

So I got up this morning, watched a few refresher videos from Joy, with Obsessed with Scrapbooking (great tutorial videos!) made my coffee and got started.
When you first log in into your cricut account and hook the Explore up to your computer, this is the first “make it now” project that will come up for you to try out. I am sure you will see tons of these cards today all over the cricut blogs. It was very simple, only used one sheet of black card stock and small rectangle of teal card stock that comes with machine. It also used a silver cricut pen that slips into the machine right next to the cutting blade, the pen also comes with the machine.

So I just wanted to post a few pictures to show all you crafty people out who are considering getting this new machine what it looks like. I have the E2 already and this machine seems to cut better, and also seems to make less noise..or maybe I am just in love LOL. Unfortunately, I have a hair appointment so the fun has to stoop for now. But I will be back to being a cricut cutting fool as soon as I can, enjoy your weekend and get crafty!

Valentine Treat Bags

I made some Valentine treat bags for my co-workers this year....I am beginning to think this blog is going to begin to show me that I spoil the people I work with! I used the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge for this one and some cello bags from Hobby Lobby. The stamp set is from Close to My Heart (I think). I promise to get better at this....really!

Christmas treat bags

Never too late share some Christmas Cheer!
I made Peppermint Bark for my co-workers a few years back, and I have to say it came out pretty cute and was oh so tasty! I used the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge for this one.

Sooo my first blog

...I have been following scrapbooking blogs forever and thought, what the hell-why not! Side note: if you are easily offended, or are a member of the spell check police, this may not be the blog for you!

I have been crafting forever and really love it. Everyday I am thinking of new ideas and different things I want to get started when I get home from work. But alas, there are just not enough hours in the day to get everything done that I want to do. So for now I will keep playing the lottery and hope one day soon I can quit my job, (not that I hate it, I actually really like my job) it just takes too much time away from playing in my scraproom :)

I am hoping this blog will keep me motivated to keep creating and maybe inspire others to do the same.
